Where have I been all week?
Yeah man, I got really high and forgot to update my blog. I was, like, the highest person in the continental US for a bit.
The summit of Mt. Whitney is 14,505 feet above sea level, and I took every single step up that infernal trail over the course of four days with 43 pounds of gear strapped to my backside.
Interesting to note, the weight of my pack is within a few pounds of the weight I lost after leaving my desk job.
Within twenty four hours of descending California's highest peak, we took a detour to the lowest point in the country, where sweat was shed and ice was eaten. Thank Nordhoff for modern VW air conditioning.
